2016 Silver Sands Multisport Festival

2-3rd April 2016 | Silver Sands, South Australia

Following on from the very successful inaugural SilverSands Multisport Festival, the 2016 festival will once again be the premiere multisport festival in South Australia, featuring open water swimming, beach running, and cycling on one of the most picturesque Esplanades in the country.

Saturday morning will feature a FREE Kids only Aquathon for kids under 14 (as at 31 December 2016) at 11:00am to make this a truly family festival.

In the early afternoon you can compete in The Dive Shack ‘Snorkel Safari’ 1km and 2km open water swims.

Saturday evening will be a carb loading dinner at the Aldinga Bay Surf Life Saving Club before retiring for a sound sleep to be fresh for the Sunday events. The short course Laubman & Pank Glenelg triathlon and Olympic distance triathlons will be held on Sunday morning.

Both triathlons feature an ocean swim and closed Esplanade road bike leg with a beach/sand run which makes this race unique in Australia.

With plenty of accommodation options and tourist attractions, Aldinga is a great place to plan a family get away and enjoy the very best of the Fleurieu Peninsula, including McLaren Vale – a coastal playground famed for its laidback lifestyle, beach breaks for surfers of all levels of experience, and top fishing spots.

Enjoy some of the best produce and vineyards in Australia. The Fleurieu Peninsula is home to some prestigious winemaking regions, including McLaren Vale. The history of winemaking in this region goes all the way back to 1842, and it consistently produces some of the best drops you’ll ever taste.

“An iconic location, destined to become an iconic multisport event”
